HomeCareDirect were honoured to be asked to be invited to do a presentation on Personal Health Budgets at the Muscular Dystrophy UK Muscle Support Group meeting in Milton Keynes this month.

Muscular Dystrophy UK (previously known as the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign) is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions. Founded in 1959, they have been leading the fight against muscle-wasting conditions since then. They bring together more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions, affecting around 70,000 children and adults in the UK.

Muscle Groups are a great way to get involved, meet people and their families in your local area affected by muscular dystrophy or a related condition and share information and advice.

The event on the 16th of October at Holiday Inn Express Milton Keynes focused on Personal Health Budgets, which are a new way of managing and paying for continuing healthcare on the NHS.

This was a chance for people to find out more, see whether Personal Health Budgets are a good option for you and share advice.

The event was great fun and really well attended and it was a great chance to meet people and talk about Personal Health Budgets and what it could mean for them.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Muscular Dystrophy UK for inviting us to talk at this event and share our experiences with all the muscle support group members, we had a wonderful day.
