Spread the warmth to keep older people warm and well this winter. We have all started to notice that winter is well and truly on its way now…brrrrr.

Cold Weather 2013

Age UK has kicked off its Spread the Warmth campaign to help keep older people warm and well in winter. It says 24,000 older people are likely to die unnecessarily from the cold – 200 deaths a day that could be prevented. Age UK wants people to help spread the warmth and try to prevent these winter deaths. It has four quick and easy ways to get involved, from joining the online campaign, to reading and sharing tips for staying warm with this winter. There is loads of information of their website here.

We all know it’s important to wrap up warm this winter and all of us at HomeCareDirect hope you can manage the winter season safely, so we’re encouraging everyone that as the cold snap fast approaches, please look out for the elderly and vulnerable in your community, if you’ve got any tips on staying warm and safe then please get in touch with us here.
