Nottinghamshire County Council
Nottinghamshire is a county in the East Midlands of England, bordering South Yorkshire to the north-west, Lincolnshire to the east, Leicestershire to the south, and Derbyshire to the west. The traditional county town is Nottingham, though the county council is based in West Bridgford in the borough of Rushcliffe, at a site facing Nottingham over the River Trent.
The City of Nottingham is home to the famous Nottingham Castle forever immortalised in the tales of Robin Hood and his merry band of outlaws who had an on-going battle with the evil Sherriff of Nottingham, and the ancient Major Oak, supposedly the tree under which Robin lay dying as he drew his last arrow, still stands in Edwinstowe, north of Nottingham. Nottingham was also famous for its intricate lace products and you can still visit the Lace Market in Nottingham today.
