London Borough of Havering Council
The London Borough of Havering is a London borough in North East London and forms part of Outer London. The palace itself is known to have existed since at least the reign of Edward the Confessor when it was one of his primary residences. James I of England and VI of Scotland also used Havering Palace as a hunting lodge.
Today Havering is one of the largest boroughs in Greater London and covers an area of approximately 40 square miles, half of which is in the green belt. From the tranquil rural life of locations such as Havering-atte-Bower to the hustle and bustle of Romford town centre it’s a great place to live, work or visit with a thriving community and a prosperous economy. Havering also happens to be one of London’s safest boroughs with a consistent record of crime reduction.
