London Borough of Newham Council
Newham is one of the most culturally diverse places in the United Kingdom. It is situated 5 miles east of the City of London, and is north of the River Thames. Thought by some to be one of the most diverse and vibrant borough in London, Newham has the youngest overall population in the country according to the 2011 Census. Newham was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the Olympic Stadium. The famous Westfield Shopping Centre is also here. Also famous for being the home of West Ham United who took their name from the West Ham section of this area. The club itself was captained for a while by Bobby Moore, famous for being part of the squad that won England the world cup in 1966.
