The popular NHS Choices website now includes a free online listing for all registered social care providers in England, such as Home Care Direct and we’ve had the opportunity to add information about our services on the listing.

The directory is available to the public from April 2013 and offers CQC-registered home care providers the chance to promote their services to the public and local authority commissioners. Originally announced in the Government’s Care and Support White Paper, the directory is likely to become the most visible website for people choosing care, helping them make informed, personalised choices about care for themselves and members of their family.

Every CQC-registered care provider has a basic listing on the NHS Choices website and from April 2013, each Provider Profiles give people a taster of what organisations offer and we hope you find our listing useful.

UKHCA Policy Director Colin Angel, who represented home care organisations in discussions with NHS Choices about the project, said: “We recommend that all member organisations make an active decision to enhance their Provider Profile at the earliest opportunity.  This has the potential to provide significant commercial benefits for your organisation, attracting new business and raising the profile of your service.  Providers can be creative in how they enhance their Provider Profile by using photos and video, publicising their awards and describing key staff, their qualifications and specialisms, in a way that really helps potential service users choose a service.”

Directory’s such are this one are great for letting people know all the choices that are available to them for the services they require.  Choice and control is key to all Home Care Direct services and we are happy to have a listing on directories such as this one.  See the Home Care Direct’s listing here.
