HomeCareDirect believe that when choosing a personal assistant it’s not only important to find someone with the right skills, but also someone with the right personality and outlook. By directing your own support with us, your whole staff team will be made up of people you have chosen. You will always know who is coming into your home and when, whilst having the flexibility to fit your personal assistants around your existing lifestyle.
Your personal assistants could be a friend, neighbour, family member (in certain circumstances “where it is necessary to meet a person’s needs” – the guidance for this is included at the bottom of the page) or it could be someone found through advertising and interview.
As part of our service, we will do all necessary checks of your personal assistants on your behalf and will train them to meet your specific care needs. Therefore, your chosen personal assistants do not need to have any previous care experience.
Traditionally, it has been difficult for family members who are living in the same house to be employed as personal assistants unless there are exceptional circumstances. However, with HomeCareDirect involved as a third party, we have a number of packages where this has been agreed by the local authority or CCG – and works incredibly well for all parties involved.
If you have an existing personal assistant team in place that you are happy with but would like us to employ on your behalf, we will work closely with you and your team to make the transition as smooth as possible.
