At HomeCareDirect we’re working hard to spread the word about how much of a difference personal health budgets can make in people’s lives – since we see it every day!

We’ve been travelling the length and breadth of the country talking to individuals, families and care professionals about personal health budgets. We are attempting to dispel some of the myths, break through the jargon and detail to people what their choices are.

Over the last few weeks we’ve:

– Exhibited at commissioning live in Birmingham, where there was an encouragingly enthusiastic interest in personal health budgets

– Started a national project of training case managers in personal health budgets, with the first 40 already trained

– Started the creation of an on-line national directory of services and activities that people can spend their personal health budget on
