Working fully to the principles of personalisation HCD give people the choice and control over the support services they receive whilst removing the headache of them having to be the employer of their personal assistants.
HCD can be an option for individuals who would benefit from the freedom that personal budgets and direct payments give but are concerned about the responsibility this can bring. HCD can be seen as the ‘Middle Way’ between paying for a care agency and people employing their own staff, with all the legal responsibilities that come with this. Through HCD individuals are offered the reassurance of a well-managed and regulated provider whilst still being at the centre of how their care and support services are delivered.
Since HCD is the legal employer of personal assistants chosen by individuals, we are able to open up personal budgets and direct payments to those who may not have been able to access these due to concerns over the responsibilities of being an employer, helping local authorities meet targets, cut costs, but more importantly improve the lives of people in their communities.
HCD are committed to enhancing health and social care services at a national level wherever we can. Our range of services across health and social care allows us to provide quality care at home services and to continue to find innovative solutions to commissioners’ local needs. We share a common goal to help people live independently within their local communities.
HCD accept referrals from local authorities for anyone who requires care and support, including older people, children and young people, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health issues and people with physical disabilities and/or sensory impairments. HCD help people find solutions to the problems they are facing and working seamlessly with local authorities to ensure that they get the help that is right for them.
HCD is a national company with a local feel. We have a network of client support managers who help people to manage their package and ensure it’s a success.
