Along with fellow director, Jeremy Knowles, Roger Adams started HomeCareDirect back in 2003 because he wanted to help people take more control over their support at home through personal budgets and direct payments.
Roger has been involved in support at home for some 20 years and was founding chairman of both the Derbyshire Home Care Association and Sheffield Association of Home Care Providers.
Through HomeCareDirect more recently, Roger has fronted the establishment of the national charity called Together is Better, to help support local charities and voluntary groups, continuing and improving the quality of life of HomeCareDirect supported clients, in their own homes, throughout England.
Roger has served for 15 years on the local parish council and as a school governor for five years. He is currently also the chair of the local village “red telephone box restoration committee” which was recently purchased from BT.
Roger is married with four grown up children and lives with his wife, a great dane and a cat.
