HomeCareDirect are enjoying working in partnership with UNISON who offer a wide range of support to personal assistants nationwide. We share the belief that a well-supported team of personal assistants encourages stable care teams and therefore stable packages of care. A positive outcome for all involved.

28/3/09. People Not Profit March in central London.

UNISON recognises that care work can be isolating for a personal assistant. They are available to give information and guidance on issues that face personal assistants. They also want to give personal assistants the chance to share ideas and best practice.

UNISON is working to raise the profile of the personal assistant workforce throughout the country. They are doing this in a variety of ways.

Their website offers links to other organisations that offer support and information for personal assistants, providing updates on policy changes and new legislation that affect personal assistants.

There is also an e-forum, dedicated website, courses for personal assistants and their employers and local community hubs where personal assistants can meet up in a community setting.
