Job Description

THE COMPANY: 

HomeCareDirect is a person centred support at home service with clients across the UK. HomeCareDirect brings independence, choice and control directly to the client/service user by incorporating an individualised approach to each client who uses the service. 

Registered with the Care Quality Commission, HomeCareDirect provides support, structure and quality to individual clients who are in receipt of Direct Payments, Individual Budgets, Health or independent funding by allowing the clients to manage their own care packages whilst having the security and peace of mind of having HomeCareDirect ensuring that the undertakings of employment issues and training is to the highest standards and meet legal and regulatory requirements.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:  

To be responsible for your own duties within the Accounts Office and to assist the Accounts Office Manager with the smooth running of the Accounts Office 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

  • The Company has internet based systems which automatically record staff time worked and creates time sheets on password protected access
  • The majority of time sheets are automatically transferred onto Sage payroll
  • Personal cares are paid by either direct credit or cheque on the 7th – 11th of the month for receipt of all work provided for the previous calendar month

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

  • Show commitment and a willingness to be flexible and complete a task and meet deadlines
  • To have good attention to detail
  • Be confident on the telephone and have a good telephone manner.
  • Have the confidence and ability to talk to people at a professional level.
  • To be punctual and reliable.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • To be competent in relevant aspects of Mircosoft Office Packages including Excel, Word and Outlook and extensive knowledge of Sage 50.
  • Preferred qualification Accountancy AAT Access with a willingness to work towards AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. 

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Data input into Sage Accounts/Payroll
  • Data input into bespoke HCD Admin program
  • Data input into accounting/payroll spreadsheets
  • Assist with bought ledger and payments
  • Assist with banking
  • Client Quarterly Returns – keeping monthly statements up to date
  • Assist with the processing of cares expenses
  • Assist with calculating and updating personal assistant holiday entitlements
  • Assist with the generation of payroll cheques
  • Photocopying documents
  • Producing reports as requested
  • Other administration duties as may be required from time to time, by the company
  • Taking of cheques to bank
  • Writing cheques 

TRAINING:

  • HomeCareDirect has its own training department and will facilitate a personal development plan to meet the needs of your specific role, to aid your personal development. 

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week – times to be agreed, there is on occasion the requirement to work out of hours and at weekends as agreed with your line manager. 

RENUMERATION:

  • £16,700 – £18,700 depending on experience and qualification, training is undertaken on a module by module basis which dictates increments in salary as competency is achieved.
