We’ll be at today’s Personal Budgets in health and care – integration, personalisation and towards implementation debate held by the Westminster Health Forum in Whitehall London. It will focus on the regulation of personal budgets, and the impact they are having on health and care outcomes and costs. There will be other sessions which will look at how budgets are fitting into the wider personalisation agenda, the move towards integrated health and social care, and the role of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), local authorities and NHS England in commissioning and delivery.

The timing of this event is perfect as the national programme of Personal Health Budgets is rolled out, and following the publication of the Care Bill – which sets out a new legal right for everyone with a care and support plan to have a personal budget – delegates at this conference will consider the key issues surrounding implementation and personalisation.

There are lots of interesting participants to this event including, Dr Alison Austin, Lead, Personalisation and Control, NHS England and Elizabeth Wade, Deputy Director of Policy, NHS Confederation as well as Patrick Hall , Practice Development Manager (Policy) from Social Care Institute for Excellence’s (SCIE) will all be speaking at this event.

You can find out more about this event on the Westminster Health Forum website here.

As an organisation that has specialised in personalisation for over 10 years, HomeCareDirect are excited about the upcoming choices that will be available to all people from April 2014, especially the options that will be available to people through personal health budgets so we are looking forward to this event to hear from and share our experiences with other liked minded people and to hear what the future holds for us all.
