Training Manager

I joined HomeCareDirect in May 2009 supporting the development of the HomeCareDirect Training Department. My role is to oversee the Training Department, responsible for on-going learning and development for all HomeCareDirect employees and ensuring quality assurance for all training delivered. I help to produce training materials and on-going support for all of our bespoke training sessions and also work in partnership with Training and Development providers and Health Professionals.

I have over 22 years of experience working in Health and Social Care Sector in various roles but felt very strongly about the lack of training available for care lead to poor practice. This encouraged me to become a qualified trainer to deliver mandatory training sessions and achieve further assessment qualifications to complete Assessing and Internal Verification for carers to gain Vocational Qualifications. Being passionate about the development of people, I ensures that there is sufficient experiential learning when designing any level of training.

My long-time experience within the care sector, paired with a passionate ambition to keep current with legislation and practice, allows me to bring a fresh set of ideas and skills into training and development for HomeCareDirect.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my children and where ever possible, time at a spa with friends for a pamper session. I also have a tendency of getting pretty competitive when it comes to playing sports and games with friends.
