Julie Le-Pine

Community Nurse Assessor

I set my heart on becoming a nurse at the age of four, when I left school I worked as a receptionist/pharmacy assistant in a very small doctor’s surgery.  Since then I’ve worked in offices or health care, in the community and in hospitals, in Essex, Shropshire, and North Wales.  I started my family at a young age and didn’t have the opportunity to go to nursing college, until in 2009 while working as a Community Rehabilitation Technician with a District Nursing Team, I was offered a secondment to Stafford University to train as a Registered Adult Nurse.  It was perfect timing, my two eldest sons were in university themselves and I had the time and freedom for full-time study.  I qualified in 2012, moving straight into the nursing home environment, where I progressed from Staff Nurse to Clinical Lead Nurse, and Deputy Manager, qualifying as a Mentor for student nurses and gaining a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership along the way.

I joined Home Care Direct because I believe in empowering people to take control of their lives, and their care, while remaining in their own homes.  I believe in holistic nursing, looking at clients as a whole, including their physical and psychological needs, social environment, and religious beliefs.

I am a mother to three adult sons, and a wonderful daughter-in-law, all of whom I am very proud of.  I have two cats and a very loveable dog.  Outside of work I love nothing better than to be in the garden or at my caravan in Norfolk sitting in the sun.  I also have a wide range of interests, including dress-making, reading, and various handicrafts.
