Mark Gray

Lead Transition Nurse

I am a registered learning disability nurse, and a holder of the Queens Medal for nursing. I specialise in working with clients with dual sensory loss, learning disability, acquired brain injuries (ABI), those who have had a stroke, dementia and neurological conditions. I have over 34 years clinical and management experience in health and social care.

As well as running my own company I am sub-contracted to HomeCareDirect and work primarily as a relief Community Nurse Assessor and work with a small specialist case load.

I have worked with HomeCareDirect since 2007. I have previously been the Chair & CEO of two national learning disability charities and an active trustee of two others. I was also the Chair of the Board of POhWER, a national Advocacy Charity, from 2015-2018.

I live in the East Midlands, and I’m married with a grown up son and two Shetland Sheep dogs. My hobbies include playing bass guitar, charity work, painting and writing. I am also an award Judge for the Nursing Times, Adult Nursing and Student Awards and a guest editor and reviewer for learning disability and visual impairment journals and have written and published books and articles in both fields of work.
