Support Worker In Blackburn, Lancashire CP/DG

Job Description

HomeCareDirect are looking to recruit a dedicated Support Worker for the Blackburn area.

The role is to assist the client with activities which ensure the client is able to live independently as possible. The role will be working on a one to one basis in the clients home.

 

 You will be required to assist the client in the tasks below:

 

  • Driving / Essential Appointments
  • Personal care such as washing or dressing
  • Attending medical visits/collecting prescriptions
  • Administering medication – administer controlled medication via subcutaneous injection during the day and night period. (PAs administering medication keep a written record of all drugs given in accordance with the Medication Policy)
  • Shopping
  • Preparing and cooking food, the client does not have set meal times
  • Cleaning and housework
  • Ensuring the client’s home is hygienic and safe

They are looking for:

 

  • Basic level of computer literacy for filling in online medication spread sheets, emails etc.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence is required.
  • It is desirable for applicants to have previous experience in the care sector. This can be either paid or voluntary work and family care experience can be considered.
  • HomeCareDirect will ensure that you are fully trained to meet the needs of the person you are employed to support. This training will be provided prior to starting with the client and updated as necessary. Some training may require you to attend external training courses.

Times and days required:

Various shifts are available covering day times and sleep nights as our client needs to be supported at all times. Some weekend work will be required. The ability to cover annual leave and sickness is required. Flexibility can be offered to the right candidate.

 

Shift times are:

 

9am to 2pm, 2pm – 7pm, 7pm – 12am – each of these shifts includes a 40 minute unpaid break.

12am – 9am sleep over. Usually a combination of these shifts will be worked together.

 

Rate of Pay: £10.50 Per Hour 9am to 12am and £7.83 per hour 12am to 9am sleep
